Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) and Chris Froome will see each other again at the Asian Criteriums.

Despite his official farewell after the last edition of the Vuelta a España, Contador has decided to come back to the criterium of Shanghai next 29th of October. The rider will be accompanied by teammate Koen de Kort.

Four-times Tour de France winner Froome will also appear in this Asian tour that includes the first edition of the Tour of France Skoda China Criterium and the fifth Saitama Criterium in Japan.

Dimension Data's Mark Cavendish, who is the active rider that has won the most Tour de France stages, will also make an appearance in Japan for the first time.

Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) will appear in both criteriums and will try to get a second victory in the Japanese race.

Polka Dot Jersey winner Warren Barguil (Sunweb) will also take part in the Asia Tour as well as Tour de France runner-up Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac) and Strade Bianche, Milano-Sanremo and Clasica San Sebastian winner Michal Kwiatkowski (Sky).
