Kazakh rider Ruslan Tleubayev has signed a new contract with Astana Pro Team, keeping him at the WorldTour formation for another year.

The 30-year-old has spent his entire career at Astana, first as a stagiaire in 2011 and then as a member of the continental team in 2012, before joining the first squad at the start of 2013.

His biggest results are a Gold medal at the Asian Road Championships Road Race of 2014 and a stage win in the Tour of Hainan in 2016.

"I am very happy to renew my contract with Astana. Here I feel like at home and I am always ready to help the team in reaching the common goals. This is great when after our joint efforts we succeed," the rider said.

For general manager Alexander Vinokourov, Tleubayev is vital to the team's plans on different types of terrains.

"Ruslan is a strong team’s player, who is for 100 percent loyal to team strategy and goals," he said. "He is good in the classics, while in this season he showed himself really well as a supporter of our young sprinter Minali, who already scored a few podium places. This kind of riders is very important in every team."
