Sam Bennett completes a hat-trick in Turkey

Sam Bennett of Bora-hansgrohe has secured his third consecutive stage victory in the Tour of Turkey.

The Irish rider once again proved to be the strongest in the sprint, crossing the line first after a relatively short (128.6km) stage from Fethiye to Marmaris.

To do so, the peloton first needed to catch a lead group of three with Greg Daniel of Trek-Segafredo, Thomas Deruette of WB Veranclassic Aqua Protect and Ferit Samli of the Turkish selection.

The trio gained an advantage of about six minutes but was caught well on time for the sprint, with the last survivor Daniel getting reeled in at 11 kilometers from the finish line.

In the sprint, Bennett defeated Belgium Edward Theuns of Trek-Segafredo once again to take his third stage win in a row. Italy's Simone Consonni of UAE Team Emirates took third place.

The top three of the overall classification looks similar to the stage result, with Bennett leading Theuns by 14 seconds and Consonni in third place at 26 seconds.
