Orica-Scott has announced the contract extension of Georgia Williams. In 2018 the New Zealander starts her second season in the Australian squad.

The rider finished second in the time trial and the road race at the New Zealand championships before joining Orica-Scott for the European spring classics. Williams was an important part of the team's successes at the Emakumeen XXX. Bira in Spain and the Giro Rosa.

"I am really excited to be re-signing with the team for 2018," said Williams. "It has been a fantastic season this year and I am looking forward to building on the success we have achieved.

"This season we had a strong team with a fun atmosphere within the squad and it is great to be able to continue to be a part of that."

Orica-Scott's sports director Gene Bates expressed the happiness of the team at securing the talented rider for another season. "We feel very privileged to have Georgia back in our team for the 2018 season," he commented. "It’s great to have a Kiwi within the squad to keep everyone on the straight and narrow!

"After a large amount of time away from European road racing we were very pleased by her seamless transition back into competition this season. Georgia brings exceptional strength and firepower to the team and we are very excited to see her develop this even further next year."
