The Amgen Tour of California has announced its route for the 2018 edition of the race. The largest sports event of this American state will take the riders from Long Beach to Sacramento.

The 13th edition of the American race will take place between the 13th and the 19th of May and will have 11 host cities across the state. The 2018 edition of the competition will the third time in its history that the rider will go from the south to the north of the state over more than 950 kilometres.

The Tour of California will have several stages suitable for sprinters and a Queen Stage on the sixth day. This stage will have the riders climb 2.000 metres with an uphill finish in South Lake Tahoe.

Meanwhile, the Amgen Tour of California Women's Race will take place between the 17th and the 19th of May, covering more than 240 kilometres in three stages. This race will have the same finish lines as the men's and will also be decided on the Queen Stage at South Lake Tahoe, being one of the biggest climbs in the UCI Women's WorldTour.
