PARIS-ROUBAIX

Alexander Kristoff expects to find new motivations in this new chapter of his career that can take him to the victory once more.

After six seasons at Katusha, the Norwegian has signed for UAE Team Emirates until 2019 in a move he hopes will spark his career once more. "It was time for a change," said the rider to the Italian Gazzetta Dello Sport. "I will surely find new motivation and a better performance, which will help me to win important races again.

"Having new teammates and new people around me will give me an important stimulant. Of course, I'm also going to a strong team with big riders and we will be competitive on every terrain."

The rider is one of the few active riders that has won more than one monument with a victory at the 2014 Milano-San Remo and the 2015 Tour of Flanders. During the 2018 season, he will focus once again on the spring classics and defend his title of European Champion, but his main objective is one: "My dream is to win Paris-Roubaix."

At the last World Championships Road Race in his country, Kristoff was very close to the victory but Peter Sagan was just faster. "It was a matter of centimetres and I've been thinking about it a thousand times, but I have nothing to regret," explained the Norwegian.

"I do not think I made any mistakes and I was just beaten by Sagan, who won the jersey three times in a row, which had never happened before. That makes him the best rider in the world."
