Jakub Mareczko makes it four in a row at Tour of Hainan

Italian cyclist Jakub Mareczko has won his fourth stage in a row in the Chinese Tour of Hainan, and as such remains at the top of the overall standings.

The fifth of ninth stages was 167.5 kilometers long with start in Danzhou and finish in Changjiang.

As on the previous three days, Mareczko once again proved to have the better legs at the finish and defeated Estonian Martin Laas of Delko Marseille Provence KTM and Ukrainian Andriy Kulyk of Kolss Cycling Team to take the victory.

With four stages to go and 114 riders left in competition, Mareczko (Wilier Triestina - Selle Italia) has an advantage of 24 seconds over Laas. Spaniard Jon Aberasturi of Team UKYO follows at 31 seconds.

The Italian may well keep his lead on Thursday, but might phase more difficulties as the race arrives to the mountains on Friday.
