During the concentration of Movistar in Spain, Nairo Quintana took some time to talk to the media about the 2018 season and his relationship with Mikel Landa.

Landa comes to the team amidst rumours that Quintana feels he will question his leadership, but the Colombian claims all this isn't true. "We haven't had any trouble when we were in rival teams and now even less. He's very nice, extroverted and we have been working well this week," said the rider to the Spanish news agency EFE.

"Landa gives us more tranquility and with him, we have more options to face Sky, which has dominated in the Grand Tours."

It has been said that the Colombian is making sure that Landa doesn't take the leadership position in the Tour de France, something that Quintana has denied. "The limits are set by nobody, only by each of us and on the road," he explained.

"From the outside, people want to create a bad environment that doesn't exist. He's not a rival, he's a teammate and we will work with the team to do our best."

The Colombian maintains the French Grand Tour as his main objective for the 2018 season. "Very likely it will be both of us in the Tour de France. I will be focused on the Tour and my objective is to get there at 100%. After that we will think about what we will do," he commented.

"I've won the Giro and the Vuelta, now I have the dream of winning the Tour. I'm not frustrated and I keep the hope to keep fighting."
