The UCI has confirmed that Burgos BH will become ProContinental in 2018. The Spanish team will be the third team in the country in this category.

As its main sponsor, the Spanish formation has the Diputation of Burgos city and the team will join Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and Euskadi-Murias at the ProContinental level, from now on having the chance of starting in WorldTour races with an invitation.

Riders like Eduard Prades, Matvey Mamykin, Jordi Simon, Jose Menses, Nicolas Sessler, Victor Langelotti, Silvio Herklotz, Jesus Ezquerra, Diego Rubio and Adrián Gonzales coming from teams like Katusha-Alpecin, Bora-hansgrohe and Caja Rural, will join the roster for the first season as a professional team.

"Our main objective is to have a great season so we can earn the possibility of participating in the Vuelta a España," said Burgos BH director Julio Andres Izquierdo.
