The Chinese Cycling Association collected evidence and investigated the incident, coming to the conclusion that Wang Xin can't be in the professional peloton for a period of two years. The team Keyi Look has also been excluded from all events until 2019.

Team manager Han Feng, doctor Zhang Ya and masseur Fan Yunling have also received different punishments by the Association. Even though Han was not involved in the fight, it was considered that he failed at the control of members of his team.

Swiss Cycling manager Danilo Hondo has stated that their car didn't hit the rider and that it can be proved using footage that exists of the moment.
