Andrea Pasqualon extends with Wanty-Groupe Gobert

Italian rider Andrea Pasqualon has signed a two-year renewal with his current team Wanty-Groupe Gobert.

The 29-year-old joined Wanty from Roth-Skoda at the start of this year and did well with a victory in the Coppa Sabatini as well as top-ten spots in Paris-Tours, Paris-Bourges, the GP Bruno Beghelli and Binche-Chimay-Binche.

In addition, Pasqualon made his grand tour debut by representing the Belgian formation at the Tour de France, in which he finished 137th.

"I am very happy with the extension at a team in which I feel good with both staff and companions," the rider said. "This is why 2017 was the best season in my career. From the Tour onwards, everything has changed: I gained the confidence to get great results.

"Next year will be very important because I feel that I will win in high-level races. For this I have to prepare perfectly. I want to thank Team Manager Jean-François Bourlart, Sports Director Hilaire Van der Schueren and all the sponsors for believing in me."
