Team Sky rider Luke Rowe is back on the bike three months after suffering a double leg fracture.
Just after being part of the team that took Chris Froome to his fourth victory of the Tour de France, the Welshman broke his leg at his brother's bachelor party. Rowe sustained fractures to his tibia and fibula, having to undergo surgery in Cardiff.
Rowe and the team didn't know when the rider was returning to training or to competition, but he has given it a try at the Wales National Velodrome in Newport. This return to the bike is certainly sooner than expected.
"Big day for me, first time on the pushy for three months (sic)," said the rider with a picture through his Twitter account.
But after his first moments on the bike, it is still uncertain when he will be back in the pack, considering that it was expected that his recovery would last around one year.
"I haven't really set myself a date, a race or a target. I've just said 'get back as soon as I can'," Rowe explained. "Everyone knows I've got a love for the Classics, but I don't think it's realistic to be there, and that's going to be hard."
