British Cycling could be stripped of any public funding if a situation like the one of the Bradley Wiggins package in 2011 would happen again.

UK anti-doping (UKAD) announced that it will not pursue a case against Team Sky for the suspicious package that was delivered during the 2011 Criterium du Dauphine. Although the team didn't have any records of the contents of the package, the anti-doping governing body didn't find enough evidence to take further actions.

But UKAD chief executive Nicole Sapstead said that any other similar episodes could put at risk any public funding for British Cycling. "If we come across situations where records we think should exist don’t exist, or don’t exist in a proper format, we will escalate the matter to the funding body when there is one," she said to British newspaper The Telegraph.

Last March, UK Sport chief executive Liz Nicholl had already warned that any public funding for British Cycling would be at risk unless the cycling governing body could keep proper medical records of the athletes.
