Davide Rebellin has landed a new contract at his 46 years of age. The Italian will ride with Natura4Ever-Sovac in the 2018 season.

Rebellin has been a professional cyclist since 1992 and for 2018 he is adding yet another season to his career. He will join new continental team Natura4Ever-Sovac, which is a project that comes from the merge of amateur team Naturablue Cycling and Algerian continental team Velo Club Sovac.

Geoffrey Coupe, team manager, has concluded the negotiations with the rider over the weekend in Monaco. "This is a dream come true," he said. "Davide Rebellin will play an important role in our team, adding his sporting qualities to our base and guiding the youngsters with his rich experience."

The rider has been considered one of the best classics specialists of his generation by scoring more than 50 top-ten positions in professional races. Rebellin has won one stage at the 1996 Giro d'Italia and races like Tirreno-Adriatico, Paris-Nice, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Clasica de San Sebastian, La Fleche Wallonne and the Amstel Gold Race.

In 2008 he took the silver medal at the road race of the Beijing Olympics but he had to return it due to a positive result in a doping test that also banned him from racing from 2009 to 2011.
