Former Tour de France and Vuelta a España champion Pedro Delgado believes that Team Sky's Chris Froome will lose his Vuelta title as result of his Adverse Analytical Finding.

The Briton's salbutamol values were twice as high as the permitted value in a sample taken at the 18th stage of the Spanish race.

Delgado, who currently works as a TV commentator for Spanish broadcaster RTVE, told Radio Marca that while Froome is allowed to use Salbutamol, he may well lose his Vuelta win.

"It's a product that asthma sufferers are allowed to use and it is generally known that Chris Froome suffers from this disease and is allowed to use salbutamol," he said.

"Sometimes you test positive for this substance and at other times you don't.

"But I fear, and this is very sad, that he will lose the Vuelta a España. I don't think that this will affect the coming season though."
