Dimension Data's Nicholas Dlamini secured the King of the Mountains Jersey of the Tour Down Under after a week in which he spent most of his time ahead of the peloton.

The 22-year-old, who made the move from Dimension Data for Qhubeka to the WorldTour squad this year, attacked whenever he had the possibility to do so and gathered enough points to take the win in the mountains classification.

"It has been a great week for the entire team, everyone did what they needed to," the talented South African said.

"I am delighted to win my first leader's jersey in my first WorldTour race. I think I learned a lot in just one week of racing so going forward I think I will still improve a lot."

Dlamini believes that the team's performance, with Tom-Jelte Slagter taking third in the overall classification, looks promising for what lies ahead this season.

"As a team, this was a great start to our season and I feel we will also just get better as the season progresses."
