Fernando Gaviria (Quick-Step Floors) has won the third stage of the Colombia Oro y Paz race. The rider took his third win in a row and leads the General Classification for another day.

The third stage in Colombia was 163.2 kilometres long over a flat route and was bound to finish in a bunch sprint. Five riders escaped early on the day and most of them were caught at more than 20 kilometres to go, except for Felix Baron (Team Illuminate) who rode solo for a few more kilometres and was reeled back in just before the 10-kilometre banner.

The sprint teams seemed better organized than on the previous days, but Quick-Step Floors showed to be the strongest once again throughout the last kilometres. The Belgian team managed to take Gaviria until the last meters, where the Colombian accelerated on his own and easily took his third victory in a row.

Androni Giocattoli's Matteo Malucelli was second and Manzana Postobon's Sebastian Molano was the third on the day. Gaviria keeps leading the General Classification ahead of the first mountain stage.
