Team Sky's Chris Froome is enthusiastic about starting his season at the Vuelta a Andalucia/Ruta del Sol amid the questions about his adverse result at the Vuelta a España.

Froome delivered an adverse analytical result in a sample taken during the 2017 Vuelta a España for Salbutamol, a medicine for asthma. The situation is currently under investigation and Froome will be back to competition in Spain as he hasn't been suspended by the UCI or his team.

Upon his arrival to Spain, the Briton made clear that this isn't an ideal situation for him at all. He said that he and his team are "doing everything possible to solve this situation as soon as possible," to the Spanish news agency EFE.

Despite the criticism that Sky and himself have received by teams, journalists and riders, Froome is glad to be starting his season. "I'm very hopeful. I can't wait to start this season and I'm very glad to compete at the Ruta del Sol," he added.

The four-time Tour de France winner also wanted to say some words to the people that show him their support in these challenging times. "I would like to thank everybody for their support and patience during this difficult period. I'm assuring everything is resolved fast."
