Sonny Colbrelli leads Bahrain-Merida's ambitions at Belgian opening weekend

Italian Sonny Colbrelli is set to lead Bahrain-Merida at the Belgian opening weekend, which consists of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.
In recent years, Colbrelli showed that his capable of good placements at the Belgian spring classics, and he hopes to do so again after a decent performance in the Middle East.
"Our leader will be Sonny Colbrelli, who is of course feeling great, both mentally and physically," said sports director Tristan Hoffman. "After his Middle East races and a stage victory at Tour of Dubai We believe he is the ideal choice for classic races like these.
"He proved it last season. Sonny feels really comfortable at Belgium Classics and with a huge support of his Belgian 'Daytona Fan Club'."
Hoffman believes that "that this race will be a rehearsal for the whole 2018 classic season, but also with big ambitions upon last's season experience".
