Nans Peters ready to face Le Samyn

AG2R La Mondiale's Nans Peters is ready to take part in his first and only race of the season of the Belgian spring classics.
The Frenchman has already raced in Australia, Spain and France in 2018 and knows the kind of races that are suitable for him. "I started the season in Australia, and though I suffered in the heat, I was able to perform well," he said. "At the Ruta del Sol, I was a semi-protected rider, so my 13th place overall was a satisfaction.
"I like that kind of a race where the course wears you down with all the undulations and climbing."
Last weekend, Peters was part of the team that supported Romain Bardet in the victory at the Classic de l'Ardeche. "This past Saturday I raced with Romain Bardet at the Ardeche Classic and was able to participate in his victory," he commented.
"Along with Hubert Dupont, we rode at the front of the pack to drive the pace and close a 10’30” deficit to the escape group... which at first seemed a bit complicated. I finished the race pretty dead, but I was very happy with the outcome."
Now it is time for the rider to start at his only race in Belgium of the first part of the season. "Next I will discover Samyn, which will be my only foray this spring racing in Belgium," Peters explained. "I looked at the course, and there are four categorized climbs, then four cobbled sections per lap.
"With the forecasted wind and minus three degrees temperature expected, it might be a bit of a ‘building site’."
