Team Sunweb will go to Strade Bianche with several cards to play in an attempt to guarantee a good result at the end of the day.

The Italian classic will be 184 kilometres long starting and finishing in Sienna and will feature 63 kilometres of gravel roads.

"Depending on the weather, we expect that soon after the feeding zone the race will really start with two long and challenging sections where most of the time the first shift will be made," said coach Marc Reef.

The Sunweb coach also explained that they will have three riders that are up for the race's challenges. "From here the race is on and will for sure be decided on the last three sectors which come 25 kilometres from the finish," Reef explained.

"We have a few riders that are suited to this final with Michael (Matthews), Søren (Kragh Andersen), Simon (Geschke) and Tom (Dumoulin). They need to work together to cover the right moves and will be supported by Nikias, Laurens and Lennard. Our goal is to create a move with one of our guys in it and aim for a good result.

Team Sunweb's line-up for Strade Bianche (3rd of March):

Søren Kragh Andersen
Nikias Arndt
Laurens ten Dam
Tom Dumoulin
Simon Geschke
Lennard Kämna
Michael Matthews
