Quick-Step Floors goes to Dwars Door Vlaanderen with the purpose of defending the title it got in the 2017 edition of the race. A strong roster will be flexible to try to adapt to every circumstance in the route.

In 2017 Yves Lampaert took the biggest victory of his career in the Belgian race after attacking in the last kilometres with a group that included teammate Philippe Gilbert. The race finished with both riders on the podium on a perfect day for the team.

Both Lampaert and Gilbert will be back for the 2018 Dwars door Vlaanderen along with Alvaro Hodeg in his first one-day race in the WorldTour, and Elia Viviani. "It’s a completely different course compared to the one of the previous edition, however, it won’t be any easier, as it’s still a very tough profile," said Sports Director Tom Steels.

"The final is quite the same but there are less cobbles and hills, which on paper will play in favour of a bigger group battling it out in a sprint. One of the things that can ruin it for the sprinters is bad weather conditions, which will make the race a lot more difficult to control for them."

The roster has riders suitable for several outcomes. "Some riders and teams might have De Ronde in mind or be tired from the heavy program of this period, which could make for an atypical race, where even an early breakaway has a chance to go all the way, so we must be prepared for any scenario," the director added.

"We have Viviani in the team, Richeze and Hodeg are there as well, so if we have a chance to go for a sprint, we will try and take it. After finishing in the top three at the last seven races on Belgian turf, we are very motivated to keep the momentum going."

Quick-Step Floors' line-up for Dwars door Vlaanderen (28th of March):

Alvaro Jose Hodeg Chagui
Iljo Keisse
Yves Lampaert
Maximiliano Richeze
Zdenek Stybar
Niki Terpstra
Elia Viviani
