La Vuelta has chosen the teams that will take part in the race along with the WorldTour squads. Four ProContinental teams have been invited to the 73rd edition of the race.

The Spanish Grand Tour has decided to grant Wildcards to mostly teams of its own country. Three Spanish teams and one French formation have been invited to start in the race.

Burgos-BH, Euskadi Basque Country Murias, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and Cofidis are the teams that have received the invitations. These teams will be participating in the race alongside the 18 teams of the WorldTour level.

In past editions of the race, the organisation has invited teams from countries like Colombia, Ireland, Germany and South Africa.
