Roman Kreuziger will be in charge of leading Mitchelton-Scotts aspirations in the last Classic of the season, Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

The team is motivated to get a victory after taking the second spot in the Amstel Gold Race and a fourth in the Fleche Wallonne. Spanish rider Mikel Nieve will be making his debut with the Australian formation at the Monument.

"The difference this year is that it has probably been the warmest Ardennes campaign that I’ve seen in the past 20 years or so and this has had an effect on the racing," said Sports Director Matt White. "It has been a successful stint so far for us and we are looking to finish things off with a bit of a bang.

"Roman has clearly shown he is in super shape and he will get our full support for Sunday. We have got a good group around him and a good group for options to play with in the final."

For the Czech rider, the podium of the race is not unattainable. "Liege is something you don’t do every day, it is one of the monuments for the climbers and the length of these one-day Ardennes races makes them very different," he explained.

"Coming second in Amstel and fourth on the Mur de Huy is confirmation that the form is good and for Sunday I can be relaxed, stay focused and the podium is within reach."

Mitchelton-Scott's roster for Liege-Bastogne-Liege (22nd of April):

Michael Albasini
Jack Haig
Daryl Impey
Chris Juul-Jensen
Roman Kreuziger
Mikel Nieve
Carlos Verona
