Vincenzo Nibali will be one of the cards for Bahrain-Merida to play in Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
The team will go to the last race of the Classics season with a strong line-up that includes several riders capable of fighting for the victory. The Izagirre brothers, Giovanni Visconti and Enrico Gasparotto could also play a leading role in the Belgian race.
"This year the route has changed a little, especially in the central part with longer and less steep climbs and this will change the tactics of the teams," said Team Ambassador Joaquín 'Purito' Rodriguez.
"There is also the heat that here in Belgium is a novelty. I think that someone will try to attack from a long distance, like in the last two classics. to anticipate the favourites, most of all Alejandro Valverde."
Nibali is excited about the race. "This is a race I've always dreamed of winning," explained the Italian. "It's like Lombardia because when you're on the finish line you know you've given it all. You need a perfect day on a route that this year seems more suitable for less explosive riders and therefore more for climbers like me."
