Italian Elena Cecchini of Canyon-SRAM returns to the upcoming Festival Elsy Jacobs in Luxembourg, hoping to repeat the stage win she earned in 2015.

The race consists of three stages and is scheduled to start on April 27th. Former overall winners include Marianne Vos, Anna van der Breggen and Canyon-SRAM's own Kasia Niewiadoma, although the Polish rider won't make an appearance this time.

Cecchini won the opening stage in 2015 but didn't return to compete at the race until this now.

"Elsy Jacobs takes a nice place in my heart because I have a lot of nice memories from the only year that I competed," the 25-year-old said. "The course is really cool, I love when the terrain is hard but not super hard. It's the kind of race where, thanks to the short prologue and the nature of the two stages, that general classification and stage wins are uncertain until the very end.

"In 2015 I was able to win there escaping in a strong breakaway in the last kilometres. It was a courageous attempt. I think we, as a team, can approach the tour with the same mentality - racing brave and having fun, we have nothing to lose."

Cecchini will be joined by her teammates Alena Amialiusik, Hannah Barnes, Tiffany Cromwell, Lisa Klein and Alexis Ryan
