Quick-Step Floors is set to start its 11th Tour of California with Fernando Gaviria as its leader with the objective of taking the victory in sprint stages.

In past participations at the American race, the Belgian formation has taken the general victory once with Julian Alaphillipe and collected 11 stage wins, which makes it one of the best teams to start in the Tour.

For the 2018 edition, Quick-Step will pin all its hopes on Gaviria, who will be starting in the race for the first time. He will have the support of one of the most successful lead-out trains of the peloton.

"The Tour of California is one of the best races of the season, one where we have always felt good and enjoyed many beautiful moments," said sports director Brian Holm.

"The course will take us through many parts we already know and, as you could see, it’s a hard one with many challenges, but the team – despite being young – is up for the challenge and we are confident we can leave from here with some good results in the bag."

Complete roster of Quick-Step Floors for the Tour of California (13th to 19th of May):

Kasper Asgreen
Laurens De Plus
Fernando Gaviria Rendon
Alvaro Jose Hodeg Chagui
Iljo Keisse
Jhonnatan Narvaez
Maximiliano Richeze
