Spanish rider Juan Jose Lobato of Nippo-Vini Fantini will have to take a forced break after breaking his collarbone during the third stage of the 4 Jours de Dunkerque.

The 29-year-old crashed after just ten kilometers in Thursday's stage, and was later reported to have fractured his left collarbone.

As a result, Lobato will take an unexpected break as he tries to recover in time for the Spanish National Championships, which will take place in June.

Lobato was unwillingly at he center of attention earlier this year after having been fired by LottoNL-Jumbo for reportedly providing sleeping pills to younger teammates. He was later picked up by UCI Professional Continental team Nippo-Vini Fantini.
