Bryan Coquard of Vital Concept has won the fifth and last stage of the Baloise Belgium Tour. Jens Keukeleire secured the overall victory.

The final stage began in Landen and ended 157.7 kilometers later in the town of Tongeren. The route was mostly flat and seemed suitable for a mass sprint.

The day's breakaway consisted of only Belgian riders. Kevin Van Melsen, Jonas Rickaert, Kenny Molly, Jens Adams and Timothy Stevens built an advantage of more than four minutes.

The gap was down to just 45 seconds at 20 kilometers from the finish and the last remaining escapees were eventually caught nine kilometers later.

In the sprint, Coquard did well to cross the line ahead of Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) and Roy Jans (Cibel-Cebon) to finally take the win he was looking for in the Belgian race.

Race leader Keukeleire of Lotto Soudal finished in the peloton to confirm his overall victory.
