The 4th edition of the WNT Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta is set to become a stage race. The women's race will have two stages, on the 15th and the 16th of September.

The Spanish race becomes the eighth stage race in the Women's WorldTour and will be one of the last ones of the calendar. The stage race will start with a team time trial that will take place on the 15th of September in Boadilla del Monte.

The course will be 14 kilometres long and will take place in a totally unprecedented, closed circuit. The second stage will take the riders through the usual course of the race in the centre of the city of Madrid.

The race will go through iconic streets like the Paseo de la Castellana, the Plaza de Colon, the Gran Via and the Plaza de Cibeles, and passing by places like Atocha Station and the Prado Museum.

"Unipublic continues to reaffirm its commitment to women’s cycling and the WNT Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta becomes consolidated in the international calendar as a standout race, and also as one of the last events in the UCI Women’s World-Tour season," said the organisation in a press release.
