Canyon-SRAM has announced its roster for the OVO Energy Women's Tour. The riders will also use special clothes and bike design in the British race.

As was already announced, Hannah and Alice Barnes will be fielded in the race. They will be joined by the defending champion of the Women's Tour, Kasia Niewiadoma.

The Polish rider didn't initially have this race on her 2018 calendar but has decided to return to defend her title. "I saw the stage profiles and I can say that they are going to hurt!" commented Niewiadoma. "It’s a demanding and unpredictable race and I love this. I have decided to race again because of these hard stages which I believe will help me to get into better shape before the Giro Rosa.

"I love all of the fans along the roadside and I have amazing memories from last year! I’m coming into this race with no pressure and no expectations on myself. It will be pure racing for the team. At the moment, I feel happy and complete on my bike and that’s all that matters!"

The special design for the team in the race will be based on Rapha's Women's 100 kit and will be displayed on the Canyon bikes, Zipp wheels, Rapha kit, Giro helmets and Boa dials. "The new design is really pretty and very unique!" explained the Polish rider.

"It already draws a lot of attention from our supporters and fans and I hope it creates even more! I feel like most of the women who will see this kit will be inspired to get on their bike to feel the beauty of cycling! This would be cool because the more women on the road riding the better it is for the development of women’s cycling!"
