Wout Van Aert will make a move to the WorldTour in 2020. The rider will respect his contract with Verandas Willems-Crelan, set to finish at the end of 2019.

The Belgian World Champion of cyclocross will take a step to the WorldTour with Dutch team LottoNL-Jumbo, confirmed Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. The management of the rider has also mentioned that any negotiations with his current team have been stopped.

"We informed Verandas Willems-Crelan that Wout will not extend his contract because he wants to take a step up," said the management to the Belgian newspaper. "Wout is, of course, planning to respect his current contract with Verandas Willems-Crelan."

The Belgian talent reportedly received proposals from teams like Lotto-Soudal, Quick-Step Floors, Bahrain-Merida and Team Sky.
