Fabio Aru (UAE-Team Emirates) is set to return to racing at the Tour de Wallonie in Belgium. This will be the first race for the rider after the Giro d'Italia.

The Belgian race will be the return of the rider after his bad experience at the 2018 Giro d'Italia, in which he couldn't continue due to a lack of strength. The Italian is looking forward to being back on competition again in the race that is set to take place from the 28th of July to the 1st of August.

"I’m happy that I can wear a race number on my back again; I really want to get back into the group," he commented. "The team and I have decided to add the Tour de Wallonie to my schedule.

"I will be riding on routes similar to the ones in the Ardennes Classics, which each day will feature sprints, hills and short yet intense climbs. I am sure that I will do a good job, which will be useful as I take on this second part of the season."
