A policeman has pulled defending Tour de France champion Chris Froome off his bike as the rider descended from the Col du Portet following the conclusion of stage 18.
The Team Sky rider was riding down the mountain, accompanied by his usual personal bodyguard, when a French 'Gendarme' decided to pull him off his bike thinking that he was a fan.
On photos and a video, Froome was seen arguing with the officer before jumping back onto his bike to continue the descent with his bodyguard.
Team Sky, not much later, confirmed that the rider was fine and that it had been a 'misunderstanding'.
