Bora-hansgrohe's Peter Sagan has suffered a heavy crash at the 17th stage of the Tour de France. The World Champion managed to finish the stage with the support of his teammates.

Sagan reportedly crashed at one of the descends of the shortest stage of the 2018 edition of the French grand tour. The teammates of the rider helped him to get to the summit finish on time, where he was seen with a broken shirt and blood on some parts of his body, and there he was taken for medical assistance.

"After further examinations, no fractures have been reported," said Bora-hansgrohe in a press release. "Peter suffers from heavy abrasions and some bruises on his right side. A final decision about taking on stage 18 tomorrow will be taken from the team tomorrow morning."

Sagan has already secured the Green Jersey of the points classification but to get it at the end of the race, he will have to cross the finish line at the Champs-Elysees.
