Travis McCabe (UnitedHealthCare Pro Cycling) has taken the victory at the third stage of the Tour of Utah. This is the second win for the rider in this edition of the race.

The third stage of the American race was 188 kilometres long between Antelope Island and Layton featuring a third category climb in the middle and a finish for the fast men. The first part of the day was moved and the peloton didn't allow any escape until almost 100 kilometres to go when ten riders managed to form a breakaway.

The group that included riders like Tony Baca, Lucas Hamilton, Jonny Clarke and Rob Britton, created a gap of more than one minute with a peloton that was pulled by LottoNL-Jumbo trying to control the race to protect the Yellow Jersey of Sepp Kuss. The escapees were reeled back in with eight kilometres to go and the teams prepared to face a bunch sprint.

UnitedHealthCare's Travis McCabe took his second victory in the 2018 edition of the race. Jasper Philipsen (Hagens Berman Axeon) and Edwin Avila (Israel Cycling Academy) were second and third on the day. Kuss managed to keep the GC lead.
