Stefan Küng (BMC Racing Team) has won the individual time trial of the second stage at the BinckBank Tour. The rider dominated the competition and beat Victor Campenaerts and Soren Kragh Andersen.

The second stage at the Dutch-Belgian race was a 12.7-kilometre-long individual time trial in Venray. Mitchelton-Scott dominated the first part of the stage as riders like Svein Tuft, Christopher Juul Jensen and Luke Durbridge got some time on the hot seat.

Time trial specialist Alex Dowsett (Katusha-Alpecin) finished the course in 14 minutes and 30 seconds, which was one second faster than Durbridge and gave the momentary victory to the Briton. The next rider to set the best time was Sunweb's Michael Matthews, but he didn't last long as his teammate Soren Kragh Andersen stopped the clock less than a second faster than the Australian.

The Belgian and European time trial champion Yves Campenaerts completed the course in 14 minutes and 25 seconds, moving Kragh Andersen from the top spot. But his time at the hot seat was not long either because Swiss time trial champion Stefan Küng was 15 seconds faster than Campenaerts and set a time that proved impossible to beat.

Küng also took the lead of the General Classification.
