Trek-Segafredo's Jasper Stuyven has taken the victory at the fourth stage of the BinckBank Tour. A last kilometre attack gave the win to the Belgian rider.

The riders went through a 166.3-kilometre route between Blankenberge and Ardooie at the fourth stage of the Dutch-Belgian race. The day started with the escape of Thomas Sprengers, Elmar Reinders and Lukas Spengler, which got a gap of more than three minutes with the peloton.

Following the mishap of the third stage, in which the escape group managed to survive until the end, the pack kept the escapees close and caught them with 80 kilometres to go. There were many unsuccessful attempts of a new breakaway and just after the feeding zone and with 64 kilometres to go, there was a crash that affected riders like Magnus Cort Nielsen, Mads Pedersen, Roy Curvers and Yousif Mirza.

At the 50-kilometre mark, a new escape group was finally created and included Edward Planckaert, Alex Kirsch, Dries De Bondt and Nick van der Lijke. This group was reeled back in with 15 kilometres and everything pointed at a final sprint.

Many attacks happened at the final kilometres but none succeeded until Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) made a move at the last kilometre and took the victory on his own. Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott) was the fastest of the peloton and crossed the line in the second position, while Zdenek Stybar (Quick-Step Floors) was third.

Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-Merida) kept the lead at the General Classification for one more day.
