Jarlinson Pantano out of the Vuelta a España

The Colombian had the Spanish grand tour as one of the objectives of his season, but tests have revealed that he's infected with the Toxoplasma parasite. "After sickness forced Jarlinson (Pantano) to abandon the Tour of Poland we immediately did some blood exams," said Trek-Segafredo's Head Physician, Gaetano Daniele. "We have repeated those exams this week, and they confirm the diagnosis of acute toxoplasmosis. Unfortunately, this means that Jarlinson is definitely out for the Vuelta."

It is still uncertain if Pantano will be fit to compete before the end of the season.
