LottoNL-Jumbo's Robert Gesink has suffered a training accident in United States where he has suffered multiple fractures.

The Dutchman is in Boulder, United States, where he was preparing for the Canadian races of Quebec and Montreal. The rider hit a bad road and ended up suffering a crash that caused him several injuries.

"Robert Gesink has broken two ribs and his right collarbone during a training accident," said LottoNL-Jumbo in a tweet. "The rider of Team LottoNL-Jumbo is in Boulder (USA), where he was preparing for the Canadian World Tour races in Quebec and Montréal. Gesink crashed on a bad road surface, during road works."

Gesink was set to appear at the World Championships of Innsbruck and it is still unknown how long will be his recovery from this incident.
