Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) has taken the overall victory at the Boels Ladies Tour for the second year in a row. The rider also won the last stage's individual time trial.

One of the first riders to set a competitive time at the 18.6-kilometre course was Mieke Kroger (Canyon-SRAM), who stopped the clock at 24 minutes and 49 seconds. Sunweb's Lucinda Brand started the day in the second position of the General Classification, but she crashed in a curve and at the end of the day she finished in the 19th position of the general classification, but thankfully without any serious injuries.

Boels-Dolmans' Anna van der Breggen completed the course in 24 minutes and 32 seconds, while Sunweb's Ellen van Dijk did it in 24 minutes and 22 seconds. The last rider to start the course was van Vleuten, who didn't disappoint and completed the route in 24 minutes, taking the overall victory of the race.

Van Dijk and van der Breggen occupied the second and third places of the podium.

"It is awesome to win, you are always a bit nervous for a time trial but I knew my shape was good and it is really nice to end this tour like this," van Vleuten commented. "For me, it is also the last preparation for the world championships and I wanted to do everything the same going into the world championships, so it is really nice to win this tour and with a time trial."

"It was a little bit technical today, I saw an ambulance on one of the corners on the course, that scared me a bit so I took it very easy also with the general classification in mind. Lucinda Brand crashed on a corner so I took it a bit more easy on the corner but on the straight parts I was really full gas and had good legs just like the prologue and the first stage. I think on the straight parts I had a lot of power."
