The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced an Adverse Analytical Finding for Bahrain-Merida's Kanstantsin Siutsou. The team has already suspended the rider.

The AAF is for Erythropoietin (EPO) in a sample collected in the scope of an out-of-competition control that took place on the 31st of July 2018. "The control was planned and carried out by the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation, the independent body mandated by the UCI, in charge of defining and implementing the anti-doping strategy in cycling," said the sport's governing body in a press release.

"The rider has the right to request and attend the analysis of the B sample. In accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping rules, the rider has been provisionally suspended until the adjudication of the affair."

Bahrain-Merida has shown its disappointment in a press note, in which it also states that the contract of the rider expires at the end of the current season. "This news is terribly disappointing, we are very severe with any wrong doing with regards to our internal health code, this behaviour is not accepted by our team and further procedures will be taken against the rider," commented Brent Copeland, General Manager of the team.
