Lotto Soudal's Andre Greipel has taken the victory at the fourth stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain. A very strong spring gave the rider the second win in this edition of the race.

The riders went through a 183.5-kilometre course that included three climbs of the second category. Nic Dlamini, Alex Paton, Matt Holmes, Paul Ourselin, Tom Moses and Hayden McCormick formed the breakaway of the day in the first six kilometres of the stage and they got an advantage of more than two minutes over the peloton.

Behind them, the peloton was controlled by the team with sprinters with the aim of forcing the stage to a bunch finale. Quick-Step Floors' Iljo Keisse did an outstanding job by pulling the pack for more than 20 kilometres and managing to reduce the gap with the escapees.

With almost three kilometres to go, the pack caught the last of the riders of the front group and headed for a final sprint. Andre Greipel (Lotto Soudal) launched a very strong sprint in the last metres and nobody could match it, which allowed him to take his second victory on the British race.

Sacha Modolo (EF Education First) and Patrick Bevin (BMC) crossed the finish line in second and third position, respectively. Bevin kept the lead of the General Classification.
