Mitchelton-Scott's Caleb Ewan has taken the victory at the last stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain. The Australian outsprinted Fernando Gaviria and Andre Greipel.

The closing stage of the British race was in London over 77 kilometres and was the last showcase for the fast men. There were several attacks in the last kilometres of the stage of riders like Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas, Patrick Bevin and Connor Swift, among others.

This group was soon caught and right away Vasil Kiryienka and Emils Liepens attacked from the peloton. The duo built a gap of half a second with the peloton and at around 30 kilometres to go, the rider of Sky was left alone in front.

Behind him, Lotto Soudal, Quick-Step Floors and Mitchelton Scott increased the pace in the peloton to force a final sprint. With eight kilometres to go, Kiryienka was caught and the teams with sprinters organised themselves to face the final kilometres.

Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott) was the first rider to launch the final sprint but it was so strong that nobody could match it, so he took the victory in the London finish line. Quick-Step Floors' Fernando Gaviria crossed the line in the second position and Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) did it in the third.

Julian Alaphilippe (Quick-Step Floors) arrived with the pack and secured his overall victory. Sky's Wout Poels and LottoNL-Jumbo's Primoz Roglic stepped on the second and third positions of the final podium, respectively.
