Pierre Rolland pulls out of World Championships, Warren Barguil takes his place

Pierre Rolland has given up his spot at the French team for the World Championships road race. The rider of EF Education First will be replaced by Warren Barguil.
"Pierre called me yesterday, he's sick, he has a big bronchitis," said national coach Cyrille Guimard to French newspaper L'Equipe. "On Saturday, he could not finish his intense training."
The French team for the World Championships road race will arrive in Innsbruck on the 24th of September to prepare for the event that is set to take place on the Sunday 30th of September.
Fortuneo-Samsic's Warren Barguil will join Alexandre Geniez, Romain Bardet, Tony Gallopin (AG2R-La Mondiale), Anthony Rouz, Rudy Molard, Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) and Julian Alaphilippe (Quick-Step Floors) for the competition. Groupama-FDJ's Benjamin Thomas and Saint Michel Auber 93's Yoann Paillot will represent France at the Individual Time Trial that will be the 26th of September.
