Quick-Step Floors becomes the last winner of the World Championships team time trial

Quick-Step Floors has taken the victory at the team time trial of the World Championships of Innsbruck. Team Sunweb and BMC Racing Team completed the last podium ever of the competition.

The last edition of the men's team time trial was 62.8 kilometres long between Ötzan and Innsbruck over a route that included 300 metres of altitude gain. One of the first teams to set a competitive time was CCC Sprandi Polkowice, who stopped the clock at one hour, ten minutes and 21 seconds.

Soon after, Trek-Segafredo set the best provisional time at one hour, nine minutes and 29 seconds. The next team to sit on the hot seat was Movistar, by setting a time of one hour, eight minutes and 57 seconds.

But the stay of the Spanish team at the top of the classification didn't last long as Mitchelton-Scott crossed the finish line at one hour, eight minutes and 22 seconds.
Quick-Step Floors crossed the finish line 56 seconds faster than Mitchelton-Scott, at one hour, seven minutes and 25 seconds and climbed to the top of the standings. Team Sky was 44 seconds slower than Quick-Step and took the second provisional second spot on the classification.

The next team to finish the course was BMC Racing Floors, which was 19 seconds slower than the Belgian formation and took the second place provisionally of the day. Team Sunweb was the last team of the day and it completed the course 18 slower than Quick-Step and took the second position.

BMC was at the end on the third position of the podium.
