Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) has taken his second stage victory at the 2018 Tour of Turkey. The Irishman beat Max Richeze and John Degenkolb at the final sprint.

The 137.2-kilometre stage between Fethiye and Marmaris was set to finish once more in a bunch sprint. The escape of the day was formed by seven riders and included names like Mads Würtz Schmidt, Aldemar Reyes, Fernando Barcelo and Beñat Txoperena.

This group was caught with 14 kilometres to go, as the peloton faced a climb. At this climb riders like Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates) and Nicolas Roche (BMC Racing Team) tried to get away but the teams with sprinters didn't let it happen and soon reeled the riders back in.

Bahrein-Merida's Ivan Garcia Cortina attacked at the descent but the peloton accelerated and created a small group in the front. Once again, Quick-Step Floors prepared the final for their fast men, but Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) was well positioned for another day and managed to take his second victory in the current edition of the race.

Max Richeze (Quick-Step Floors), John Degenkolb (Trek-Segafredo), Patrick Bevin (BMC) and Ahmet Örket (Turkey) completed the top five of the day. Bennett has now a ten-second lead in the General Classification ahead of the next stage, which will suit the climbers.
