Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) has taken the victory of the final stage of the Tour of Turkey. The Irishman launched a surprise attack close to the last kilometre and crossed the finish line by himself and was followed by Eduard Prades, who took the overall victory thanks to the bonus seconds.

The sixth stage of the Turkish race was 164 kilometres long between Bursa and Istanbul with a profile that made it perfect for the fast men. After the first 50 kilometres of racing, the escape group was formed by eight men and included riders like Pawel Cieslik, Louis Vervaeke, Danilo Wyss and Beñat Txopereña, among others.

The teams with sprinters like Quick-Step Floors and Bora-hansgrohe were at the head of the peloton at all times to control that the escape group wouldn't take too much advantage. At six kilometres from the finish, the breakaway was neutralised and the sprint trains took form.

At a bit more than one kilometre to go, Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) made a surprising move and launch a strong attack that Quick-Step Floors couldn't control. The Irishman crossed the finish line on his own and was followed by the second surprise of the day: Eduard Prades (Euskadi-Murias), who took the bonus seconds and climb to the top of the General Classification, at an equal time from Alexey Lutsenko (Astana) but with the advantage of having better stage positions throughout the race.

Jempy Drucker (BMC Racing Team), Mike Teunissen (Sunweb) and Szymon Sajnok (CCC) completed the top five of the day. Lutsenko and Nathan Haas (Katusha-Alpecin) stepped on the other two spots of the final podium in Istanbul.
