La Course by Le Tour de France will take place on the 19th of July in Pau. The women's peloton will race on the same circuit in which the men will compete in an individual time trial.

The fifth edition of the women's race created by the Tour de France will be in Pau. The riders will go five times through the same course that the men will use later on the day for the individual time trial to complete 120 kilometres.

"It will be rendered especially dynamic by the presence of the Côte d’Esquillot slope, an ideal springboard for the most explosive riders," said the organisation about the route of the race.

The two first editions of La Course took place on the route of the last day of the men's race with a finish in the Champs-Elysees, which made it suitable for the fast riders. The next two years, the race moved to the mountains to the Col de l'Izoard and the to the Grand-Bornand, making it a good competition for the climbers.

Now the organisation want to give the chance to the puncheurs to show themselves in a rolling course in Pau.

The past editions of the race have been won by Marianne Vos, Anna van der Breggen, Chloe Hosking and twice by Annemiek van Vleuten.
