Manzana Postobon has confirmed the signing of Jhonatan Restrepo. After three seasons at the World Tour, the Colombian goes to a team of his country.

Restrepo is the last signing of the Colombian team for the 2019 season. The rider started his career as a stagiaire at Team Katusha in 2015 and then he became a professional in the same team, where he stayed for three seasons.

At Katusha-Alpecin the rider took top-ten positions in races like the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, the Vuelta a Murcia, the Gran Piemonte and the Santos Tour Down Under, as well as in stages at the Vuelta a España and the Vuelta al Pais Vasco.

"I wanted to come back to the team for a year, rider a bit more in Colombian and regain the confidence that I lost during the three years that I was in Europe," Restrepo commented. "I did well, but I think I had something missing to win and I've lost a bit of confidence. Coming back here isn't to take a step back, sometimes it means to give two steps forward and I hope to give a lot of victories to the team.

"I bring the experience of these three years in which I learned to take care of myself in Europe, also how the races work, the roads, when to make a move and to handle the cold days. I know that I will ride a lot in Europe and I am very proud to represent my country. I hope we can take the team to the highest spots, this year they did it very well and I trust that we can do even better next season."
